If you visit Lake Pointe today you will be captivated by Hart Lake and the beautiful, native landscaping. However, things were not always this way. Through a long history of commercial use, the property had become contaminated with oil and other petrochemicals. One aspect of developing Lake Pointe was cleaning up the site and removing these contaminants.

By partnering with the MDEQ, MSHDA, the City of Hart, and others, the development team was able to execute a complete site remediation. All contaminated topsoil was removed and responsibly disposed of, and an engineered vapor barrier system was installed under the building to protect residents from any lingering contaminants. Lake Pointe expects to receive a closure on the site from the MDEQ in late 2014.
